CATE (Client Adjustable Testing Environment) gives testers more survey flow and variable control and adds visibility to their Jibunu surveys. The functionality applies to both respondent visible and back-end analytic elements. Using CATE results in a more efficient testing process and provides additional methods for confirming the accuracy of programming and data structure.
Jibunu’s team of engineers and software developers created CATE to work directly within the testing view of their surveys. By using a survey’s test link, testers can access CATE through a clean, collapsible interface. CATE includes these important features:
* History Capture: CATE’s History Tab shows previous answers without having to go back into the study to find them. This is particularly valuable when a tester wants to assess the development of logic as a survey progresses. This Tab also lets them click on any question label to see how a question appeared on the screen, along with the corresponding answer. The History Tab can track the current tester’s entire path or isolate specific elements.
* Change Answer: This time-saving feature allows testers to change a previous answer without leaving the page they are currently on. This eliminates the need to back up and re-answer questions not affected by the answer change. This feature simplifies the validation of studies where logic is based on questions posed early in the survey path.
* Skip to Question: Testers can use this agile feature to move forward in where skip patterns are incorporated. This allows respondents to jump over sections that have already been tested, are no longer relevant, or are not affected by the current item being tested. This functionality saves considerable time when testing logic or text changes made after initial testing.
* Language Toggle: If a project has multiple languages, CATE allows the tester to change the interface language without entering through another link or going back to a language selection question. When changes are made to a survey with multiple languages, a tester can change the language in all versions without going through each version to reach the appropriate page.
* Respondent ID: In communication of testing notes, it is often helpful to refer to the instance of the survey the notes are referring to. CATE provides the unique Respondent ID number to testers to help them communicate with the rest of the team.
* Variable confirmation: For analysts, CATE has the option to show variable values for all questions and answers. This ability allows analysts to confirm that the data they receive is labeled and coded to their liking.
* Suggestion Tab: CATE’s suggestions feature allows testers to submit ideas for future enhancements so Jibunu can continue to raise the bar with this testing tool.
