How Networking Actually Works at IIEX West
At many conferences, networking comes down to chance. You walk into a crowded room, introduce yourself to whoever happens to be nearby, and hope a few of those conversations turn into something worth continuing after the event.
IIEX West takes a more intentional approach.
The agenda is designed to create natural opportunities to meet people working through similar challenges, compare approaches, and continue conversations beyond the session room. Here’s what that looks like across two days.
The roundtables give you a reason to talk
IIEX West includes sixteen hosted roundtables across the two days, with eight different topics each day.
Attendees choose a conversation they want to join, and each table has a focused topic with a host to help guide the discussion.
That changes the dynamic immediately.
If you choose Beyond NPS, you already know the people sitting around you are thinking about how loyalty, advocacy, and purchase intent should be measured. At Research Operations & Scaling Lean, you’re meeting people dealing with the realities of building better research infrastructure with limited resources. At The ROI of Insights, the starting point is a challenge nearly every insights leader recognizes: demonstrating the value of the work.
There’s less time spent finding common ground because you already have it.
Each attendee can participate in one 45-minute roundtable per day, giving you 90 minutes of focused, small-group conversation over the course of the event.

Networking time is built into the agenda
Good conversations need time, and IIEX West doesn’t leave all of that time to chance.
Across the two days, the schedule includes morning coffee, breaks, lunches, and the dedicated roundtable sessions. These aren’t five-minute gaps where everyone is rushing to the next presentation. They’re intentional stretches of the day when attendees have time to keep talking.
That matters because some of the most useful conversations at an event happen after a session ends: comparing what you just heard, asking how another team approaches the same problem, or getting introduced to someone you might not have met otherwise.
You shouldn’t have to choose between attending the program and making connections. The schedule makes room for both.
Smaller sessions make it easier to meet people
IIEX West sessions are intentionally concise, with multiple stages running throughout the day.
As you move between sessions, you naturally encounter different groups of attendees who are interested in many of the same topics you are.
That’s one of the benefits of a smaller, multi-stage event. Instead of spending an entire day in one large room with the same audience, you’re moving through more focused groups and creating more opportunities for conversation along the way.
Sometimes it starts with something as simple as, “What did you think of that session?”
That’s often enough.
You can also plan conversations in advance
Not every valuable connection needs to happen spontaneously.
Through the event app, attendees can see who else is participating and arrange private meetings with Greenbook Connect. If there’s someone you already know you’d like to meet, you can reach out and put time on the calendar rather than hoping you cross paths.
This can be particularly useful if you’re attending on your own. Arriving with even a few conversations already planned gives you a starting point and makes it easier to build from there.
And if you meet someone during a session or roundtable and want to keep the conversation going, you have a way to make that happen while you’re both still at the event.
