Cint’s Chief Commercial Officer Richard Thornton has been promoted to Deputy CEO, specifically tasked with driving corporate business development around future markets and the company’s NextGen solutions, as well as support customer strategy for the global insights exchange platform, following its acquisition by Nordic Capital earlier this year.
Thornton started up Cint’s UK operations in 2009, joining as Managing Director to bring the company’s innovative SaaS research technology solutions and exchange platform to the UK market. Since that time, he has risen within the business to Global Sales and Operations Director, then Chief Commercial Officer, before achieving the latest promotion.
He said: “I am of course delighted to be appointed to this new role at Cint, and genuinely relishing the opportunity to be involved in driving forward-looking business strategy and corporate development, as we continue with our goal of bringing world-class technology and solutions to support the digital transition of our customers’ businesses.
“Our investments and NextGen new product innovation announcements coming soon are central to this strategy and build on the shared economy thinking around our platform and the insights industry. A big part of the role will also be focused on future markets and technology-led partnerships and integrations, which I’m excited about,” he added.
Prior to joining Cint, Thornton worked at Ciao Surveys GmbH, formerly Greenfield Online, where he worked his way up through the business to the Managing Director role, after joining the business as Research Analyst in 1999.
Cint CEO Morten Strand said: “I’d like to congratulate Richard on this well-deserved promotion, which is testament to both his commitment and contribution to Cint’s success in the years following his joining of the company. His experience and knowledge of the market research sector is vast and Cint has benefitted greatly from this, along with his visionary approach to the future of the company and the direction in which we take the business. He will be instrumental in the firm’s future success, following the recent acquisition by Nordic Capital, and I know he will exceed expectations in the execution of the strategy and vision our acquirers have invested into.”
