Announcing The Finalists of the 1st Insight Innovation

The votes are in and the finalists have been notified! Over 500 people voted on 15 submitted ideas in the elimination round.

Insights Innovation Competition - Win $20,000

The votes are in and the finalists have been notified! Over 500 people voted on 15 submitted ideas in the elimination round, and on November 4th at 11:00 EST the finalists will present their ideas to our panel of judges for there chance to win $20,000, great exposure, and the chance to work with industry leaders as a mentor.

We decided to go with the Top 6 ideas because it was so close at the end, and since we have 6 judges it has a certain symmetry. The  finalists that will be going on to the live judging event are (drumroll please…):

Research Through Gaming: Research Through Gaming – A new methodology; A new company with 109 Votes

AIMGen Lab: Evolutionary insight for paradigm shift in consumer research with 97 votes

Pollbob: Pollbob with 90 votes

Decooda: Simply, the worlds most advanced survey assistant with 80 votes

Insightpool: Leveraging Brand Advocates for Social Media Panel Sourcing with 52 votes

Inon: Behavioural economics: the key to pricing research with 50 votes

Congratulations to these six companies; they all have incredibly impressive ideas and our judges are going to have their work cut out for them!

The competition was fierce and all of the ideas submitted were excellent. You can review all of the submissions here.

Here is what happens next:

  • On November 4th the finalists will present their concepts to a panel of judges comprised of sponsors of the competition in a live virtual event. Think an online version of “Shark Tank” or “Dragon’s Den“.
  • Each presentation will last 15 minute: 10 minutes to pitch and 5 minutes for Q&A from the judges.
  • Using a 10 point scale for each category, judges rate each presentation on:
    • Originality of concept

    • Presentation quality

    • Market potential

    • Scalability

    • Ease of Implementation

  • After the presentations are complete, we’ll poll the audience on which pitch was best and factor the vote score into the judge scores.
  • The highest final score wins. The winner takes home the pot and chooses which of the judges they would like to engage with afterwards as a mentor.

  1. At least $20,000 (we’re looking for more sponsors to grow that award)

  2. An opportunity to work with successful senior leaders within the market research space

  3. Invited to present at a TBD industry conference in 2012

  2. An interview by me here on GreenBook Blog
