What is Mindflow Design?
The Living Lab™ is domiciled with MindFlow Design, a leading healthcare product design and development company. Space has been designed by and for researchers. While The Living Lab™ rents professional research space, it does not provide recruiting services or conduct research. If you need help with healthcare-related user research or other usability testing services, please contact MindFlow Design.
The Living Lab™ is conveniently located in Carlsbad, California, just 30 miles north of San Diego and 50 miles south of Irvine. We offer the use of 3,000 square feet of state-of-the-art space configured specifically for healthcare focus groups, in-depth interviews, usability evaluations, training scenarios, and even some medical procedure simulations.
The Living Lab™ is comprised of a waiting area, two labs, and a multipurpose room often used for training. Plus access to additional meeting/training rooms in the same building if necessary. Each lab consists of a testing room whose activities may be observed from a separate room through a one-way viewing window.
Space is adaptable to meet individual client needs. The most popular scenes requested are a hospital room, doctor’s office, laboratory, and home living room.
- Observation rooms accommodating eight people comfortably with tiered seating, four in front and four in rear - Fixed camera or two ceiling-mounted 360-degree operator- controlled pan-tilt-zoom cameras - Live streaming available - Room-mounted speakers and headphones for high fidelity audio - Audio and video recording - A private room that can be set up for training, meetings, or a client lounge - Fiber-optic network for fast data transfer and complimentary WiFi - Complimentary snacks, bottled water, and a variety of soft drinks - Catering available through Door Dash, or use your favorite delivery services and order your own - Security with facility activities separated from others in the building by keyed lobby entry
