International study on segmentation of people with chronic body pain

The target group was:

Recruitment criteria: Age, gender, household income, education level, users of various pain medications, mix of brands used, individuals who have suffered from chronic joint pain such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, back pain, or muscle pain in the past few months.

SOLUTION

  • Focus groups with homework assignment to get participants thinking about life with chronic pain
  • In depth interviews

Research question:

  • Sufferers' experiences with body pain and how it affects their lives.
  • Understanding the treatment philosophy of sufferers - what works, what does not
  • Experiences with different forms of treatment
  • Identify treatment dissatisfactions and unmet needs
