The definitions need to be monitored and adjusted year to year. It can also be challenging to define criteria to match your needs as the product or service you need to research may be appropriate for some producers and not others. If you are doing international research, certain crops may be feasible in some regions but not others, and this can be true even in countries with smaller land areas.
